Radioactive Chicken Heads
The world's premier Genetically Modified Punk Rock band.
Identity & Origins
Formed in 1993 in Orange County, California, the Radioactive Chicken Heads are a theatrical "virtual" band that performs in full costume as mutant chickens and vegetables. Originally known as Joe and the Chicken Heads, they have spent over 30 years building a cult following through their over-the-top stage shows and DIY spirit.
- The Mythology: According to band lore, they are the escaped experiments of the mad scientist Dr. Baron Von Kluckinstein, who attempted to create giant "frankenfoods" to take over the world.
- Constant Member: The group is led by Carrot Topp (Vocals), the sole constant member throughout their long history.
Musical Style: "Comedy Punk & Ska"
Their sound is a chaotic blend of 90s-style Orange County ska-punk, heavy metal, and "novelty" rock. They are frequently compared to GWAR, The Aquabats, and Green Jellÿ.
